My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi friendy friends! I'm Marshmellow!

Intake date: 5/5/2023
Intake type: Stray

Gender: Female
DOB: 5/5/2014
Weight: 47lbs

You may remember seeing my post a few weeks back when I came in a stray or the post that was going around about me, that I was extremely aggressive and it was said that I would be euthanized. What many people do not understand that aggression can come from extreme FEAR and in my case, thats where mine came from due to a long life of neglect...

It is believed that I was kept in small confinement for a very long time which caused my back legs to be slightly deformed in. When I was found, my skin was very inflamed, I had double ear infections and I was in a lot of pain. My shelter family has worked very hard with me, got me on the proper medications, I am getting weekly baths for my skin and have shown me nothing but love, compassion, and made sure I am always cozy with a full belly. I am in fact the sweetest, gentlest, most loveable girl you could ever meet. Do I need slow introductions? 100% only because I was not treated very well before, and I like to get a good sniff in and take a little time to warm up first.. but its not long before I am giving you a good smooch. I love anyone that loves me and shows me kindness. I love to snuggle and get so excited to see my people! I am very chill, and pretty low maintenance. I just want a home that will forever give me a warm bed ( I love snoozing in my bed) and lots of butt scratchies, oh and kisses!!!

Home with other dogs: I prefer to have all of your attention to myself

Home with kitties: I do not seem to mind kitties I have seen in their cage. They seem to scare me more than anything

Home with children: no younger kids please!
I am an older girl who doesn't have much strength in her back end and I do prefer a quieter setting!

Housebroken: Yes!

My leash manners: I do walk well on a leash but they make me nervous so I prefer doing good sniffs and walks around the yard- Fenced in yard preferred
