What is that you say??? A baby Opossum? Nope that’s our Toy Poodle named Juniper!
The day has finally come, Juniper is up for adoption! This tiny gal has been through a lot in the last few months we have had her. She was found on the streets & tossed in a shelter. When we arrived to rescue her, she was barely clinging to life. She sat in her kennel with a broken leg, skin infection, and was very emaciated. She had definitely given up. She was a sad sight to see. Fast forward a few months she has been through a lot to regain her strength. She has had multiple surgeries, including her broken leg fixed, spayed, and a dental with extractions. We believe she is now ready to continue her next step in her journey of life.
Some things about Miss Juniper -
🌳 We consider her a SPECIAL NEEDS dog. She is very fragile, weighing just 7lbs. We think she’s on the younger side, but it’s hard to tell with her severe neglect. She could be 4-6 yrs old possibly. Her broken leg has been corrected but she still is not very strong on it. She can tumble over easily with the slightest wrong move, or a dog knocking into her. We will only place her with other dogs that are extremely gentle.
🌳Juniper loves other dogs, but does not understand social cues whatsoever. She will invade another dogs personal space just to get close to them regardless of any warning they may give her. We will need to be very careful placing her with others.
🌳 It is extremely apparent that Juniper had an a very tough life before coming into this rescue. She basically does not know how to be a dog. She will need a very patient owner, who will protect her and basically treat her like a baby. After all her medical Juniper is still working on her house breaking, she does go potty outside, but on occasion will wear diapers when inside just to prevent accidents in the house. She will need someone to continue to work on this and be patient.
🌳 Juniper loves her caregiver, to the point of extremes. If you are home, she wants to be with you at all times whether it’s following you, crawling on you, sitting next to you or touching you. She needs a caregiver who wants a dog to want them. She is needy, sensitive & unconfident.
🌳Juniper is somewhat high maintenance! She has a special preparation for her food, wears sweaters and coats, because she runs cold. Has a very sparse hair coat for unknown reasons, and will also need continual dental care throughout her life most likely annually. She also mad some minor OCD issues such as floor licking, but hopefully in time she will realize she’s safe & this will be more limited. She also requires a ramp to get on & off the couch. No jumping for this chicken legged lady!
Now that we have made Juniper sound just amazing 😂🤣😂 She does have a lot of love to give! There are people out there that like when their dogs completely rely on them and dote over them. If you are this person, then Juniper is your girl. You will never feel lonely with her by your side!

Just because you apply for one of our foster dogs does not necessarily mean we will contact you. If your application is selected, you will be contacted. We will first do a vet check and then a meet and greet follows.
Juniper is up-to-date on her vaccinations, including Rabies, DHPP, Lepto, and Bordetella. She has been microchipped, fecal and heartworm tested. Since in our care she has also had orthopedic surgery on her front leg that does have a Tplate & screws in it. She has been spayed & a dental cleaning where she lost several teeth due to extreme neglect of her mouth.
