My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It's hard to believe that a dog as spry, fun and energetic as Zoey is 10 years old! This 14-lb. schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle mix) loves her humans with all her heart. She is happiest when she can see them. While she does not mind if her people leave the house, she does not like to be separated from them at home and will gladly and loudly display her discontent. Your days of going to the bathroom alone are officially over. Zoey is the life of the party and wants to play and have friends. While Zoey acts like a much younger dog, it is important to remember that she is 10. Zoey does the cutest thing when she wants to play or get your attention - she barks and bounces about two inches off the ground. But she is not a big barker, but a big talker, and she does have a lot to say. She makes a sound that could easily be mistaken for growling - but it is not. That is her way of talking and happens mostly when she is sitting on the couch wanting her human to touch her, or if she is wanting to have her person play tug or toss her ball. And she can be very persistent. She’s a noisy girl, but not in a bad way. Her foster family just wants to be sure her new family understands her vocal nature. This beautiful girl is a great bed companion and sleeps through the night without hogging the bed. She loves to be against her human. She will go to bed when it is time to sleep and not wake you up until you’re ready. She is not a digger, a chewer or destructive in any way. She is loose in her foster home with other small dogs 24/7. She has never had an accident in the house. She is good on a leash and likes to go for short walks. Zoey is not a good candidate for a home with children. Her talking could easily be mistaken for growling. Her cues and behavior are best suited to a home with someone looking for a couch companion that will understand the difference between a growl, displeasure and attention seeking. She is a happy-go-lucky girl dedicated to snuggling and to playing with her ball. If you are looking for a fun, furry friend who will love you with all her might, Zoey might just be your girl. She would prefer a home with a fur sibling and a yard of her own. Zoey does have a grade 2 of 6 non-symptomatic heart murmur, but does not require meds. If you live in the central Florida (Orlando) area and think you have the perfect forever home for Zoey, we’d love to find out more about you. Please complete our adoption application and we’ll see if you’re Zoey's perfect match.
