My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sylvester Ready to adopt!

Adult (possibly young) male mini lop, neutered and up to date on RHDV shots.

Sylvester came to us last fall as a dumped rabbit, left to fend for himself in the wild. Luckily, he was found and rescued before anything bad happened. He is a fairly quiet bunny who’s claim to fame is that he CONSTANTLY gives us heart attacks with his frequent flopping and then his dead-to-the-world style of sleeping in that position. (The dead bunny pose!)

He is interested in attention, but doesn’t demand it. He’s not a fan of being picked up and held, but he will allow petting. He would be good for a family who wants a low key bunny to add peace and beauty to their home. He would prefer a quieter home so he can have his dead-to-the-world naps in peace. If you are a quieter family looking for a quieter bunny, he’s your man-bun! Well behaved, uses his litter box, etc.

Go meet their pets

Potential adopters can meet our adoptable bunnies after they have completed the steps in the adoption process and their adoption application has been approved. Since we are a foster based rescue, meeting bunnies is by appointment only. We do attend some events with our bunnies. We post upcoming events on our Facebook page www.Facebook.com/waywardrabbitssc

More about this rescue

We are a rescue for HIGH RISK rabbits. Most have been confiscated by animal control or from other life and death situations. Our bunnies were forgotten, neglected, or worse. These bunnies have been through some nightmare situations.

Adoption includes:
* spay or neuter
* RHDV vaccination
* emotional issues addressed during foster
* vet and health care given during foster as needed
* good bunny behaviors and socialization addressed during foster

Our bunnies have emerging personalities that can be both fun and frustrating as you go along. They may make mistakes, just as we all do. They are not perfect. But we have worked hard to give you the best possible bunny companion that we can.

We ask you to consider providing the happy ending to their stories by adding one of our companion rabbits to your life. If you are interested in applying for adoption or in applying to become a foster with us, please contact us for more information.

PLEASE NOTE that due to the volume of rabbits coming in directly from animal control, WR is NOT able to take in owner surrenders. We WILL try our best to help you through whatever issues you are having so that you can keep your rabbit as a beloved companion pet. DO contact us for advice!
