My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brynley is an adorable 8 year old beagle from Louisiana who was surrendered by her owner to HBHR. She is a black and tan beagle on the smaller side and weighs 25 lb. She is sweet, friendly to people and other dogs, and not much of a barker.
Brynley loves going on leash walks and enjoying the scents along the way. She also enjoys following her foster mom around the house and yard, and snoozing on the couch. She does not seem very interested in playing with dog toys, although she does have a favorite lamb chop. She is a master burrower and is frequently found covered by blankets on the couch or under the crate mat which she transforms into a teepee. She does not care for the crate, and will cry and bark when crated. Having another beagle crated next to her seems to calm her down some. For that reason we think she would do best in a home with one or more beagle companions.
Brynley is currently crated only when there is no one at home to watch her. During the night she sleeps in a dog bed in the bedroom, since she has perfect house manners. She uses the dog door like a pro, is eager to please, is not destructive of the human belongings, and is not a chewer or a digger. She has a good beagle appetite but does not inhale her food like some beagles do. She is afraid of loud thunderstorms.
Brynley would make a wonderful walking companion for someone who enjoys leisure walks. Because of her separation anxiety, she would be happiest in a home where someone is home most of the time. She is healthy, heartworm negative, and ready for her forever family.
