Dog's Name: Zuko (ZUK1122OWSMN)
Estimated Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Feist MIX
Approximate Age: 2-3 years
Approximate Weight: 20 LBS
Currently Living at: Foster
Adoption Fee: $400
DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Zuko is a cute litte man who was left in a crate as a puppy and found outside a shelter. Although he’s had some ups and downs in his young life so far, he is now safe and hanging out in his new foster home while he waits to find his forever family. Zuko likes his doggy buddies, and people are ok too, once he gets to know you. He just needs a little time to warm up when meeting new friends. Zuko can get nervous around young children, so an adult home would be best. He would love to find an experienced adopter who will give him the happy life he deserves. Zuko would do best in a single family home with a large fenced yard. He doesn't like strangers coming in his home, he's a good guard dog, but approved visitors need to move slowly after a slow introduction. He is very protective of his family. Won’t you consider opening your heart and home to this sweet boy. Zuko would love to meet you!
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
