Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sam is another refugee from the Duplin County shelter in NC. And like most rescues, he seems very grateful to have another chance at life!
Sam's foster and transporter both referred to him as a "sweetheart dog" for obvious reasons! He is very gentle and loving and seems eager to please his humans. He gets along great with other dogs (as long as they are not "toy" breeds because of his size). Sam is only one year old, 53 pounds, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative and will be neutered and microchipped as soon as possible.
Sam will be a perfect candidate for obedience training because he's very smart and receptive to guidance. His primary breed is American Foxhound but he probably has some Walker Hound in his DNA as well. But he has all the traits to make him a wonderful companion and family dog!
He travels well in a vehicle and is good in a crate. He will let you know if he has to go outside.
Sam just wants to be loved and he will return that love many times over! If you are looking for a good and loyal friend, then please consider Sam. He will not disappoint!
