My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This beautiful girl is Chia.   She is a 1-year-old, 49.5-lb, black and white, mixed breed dog.  We do not DNA test and frankly, I am not great at guessing.  She is a very friendly and playful girl who is young enough to have a whole lot of learning left to do but has already seen some of the harsher side of what life has to offer.  When you look through her photos you will understand that I was choosing which photos I thought were the best ones to post (so many made the cut) and then watching her videos that, (ahem) it wasn't until the 2nd video that I saw and remembered that she is a tripawd dog.  YES, the 2nd video I watched!!!

Now you can go ahead and make fun of me if you want but I feel fairly confident that right up until you read this information some of you looked through all her photos and videos and are now in disbelief that you didn't notice either, and will go back to watch again. Honestly she was running so fast that all I saw at first were the strange markings on her right side and was happy that she was healthy enough to be cruising around that court running like the wind!  Then I saw that she was on 3 legs and I started to laugh because I knew that I, a seasoned watcher of dog videos, missed it the first time.  So, when I tell you that missing a leg doesn't seem to bother her at all, I do sincerely mean just that.

Chia is a very friendly, smart and playful girl.  She is used to living with other dogs and would love to go out walking or hiking or running with you, or your kids.  She would probably be up for almost any kind of athletic endeavor or relationship building exercises you have in mind.  I'd keep it on the ground if I were you - I'm not sure how she'd feel about skydiving, and definitely no boxing, but maybe some yoga - you saw her balance when she was running right?  Maybe you aren't a runner or hiker or walker?  That's cool, maybe a nice fenced back yard for her exercise every day?  That would work too.

Adoption applications are now open for Chia at: 4dogsfarmrescue.org/Adoption.html so you can click the link or look up for the ADOPTION word and click on that if you are on the site.

She will come to you spayed and fully vetted.

ADOPTION FEE:  $475.00

Congratulations on deciding to adopt your new family member! Thank you for choosing adoption. There are so many pets looking for their forever homes. It is our goal here at 4 Dogs Farm Rescue to make sure that each dog we place is in their perfect environment and completely compatible with their new family. This ensures that they never find themselves seeking a loving home again. The adoption process begins with an application. 4 Dogs Farm Rescue Adoption Process

1. Fill out our application and email it to 4dogsfarmrescue@gmail.com
2. After we receive it, we'll contact you by phone or email with feedback within 1-3 days
3. You may be invited to meet the dog once we have reviewed your application and spoken with you by phone.
4. If after the initial meet and greet, if it feels like a match, we'll arrange a home visit with one of our knowledgable volunteers.
5. You may then be invited to take the dog home under our foster contract, and the dog will be marked "Adoption Pending" on websites.
6. During the foster/adopt period, there will be home visits to see how dog and family are adjusting. The foster/adopt period may be anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks, longer in special cases. We do not put a time frame on proper introductions and adjustments. Each dog is unique and may respond differently to new environments and situations
7. Once the dog is responding well to you and your family and pets, and 4 Dogs Farms Rescue feels it is a perfect match, you'll sign an adoption contract, pay the agreed upon adoption fee.
In return for all the dog screening and home screening, the rescue and you can feel confident that the dog you take home is a pet you're fully prepared to own.

Our team will stay available to you for the life of your pet should any questions or concerns come up. If this sounds like an adventure you're ready to commit to, we'd love to hear from you!

Visit our website www.4dogsfarmrescue.org to see our available dogs. We are constantly receiving new rescues. Please email us at 4dogsfarmrescue@gmail.com to inquire about new dogs that have not been posted yet. Our goal is to save as many dogs as possible. Even if we don't have any that fit what you are looking for in a life-long companion, we have connections with other rescues and do our best to match any rescue dog with their forever families. Think of us also as fur baby matchmakers!

More about this rescue

Our mission is to find dogs their forever families. This usually begins by taking in shelter dogs who have run out of time or dogs surrendered by their owners. After they come in to our rescue, our top priority is to get them as healthy as they can possibly be. Occasionally, we get dogs that end up in our hospice care program. For them, we find them a loving family to live out their final days with. For the others who are healthy, our goal is the same, to find them their perfect forever homes. This may include training and rehabilitation in the process. We offer follow up training to adopters and do everything we can to make a perfect match for both people and canine.
