My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Piper
Nickname: Piperoni
Breed: Pit Bull mix
Age: ~ 1 year
Weight: 48 lbs.
Before OMD: Found as a stray and brought to the city shelter. We happily took her into rescue when a committed foster family opened up their home to her.
Energy Level: Medium-high. She's a youngin, but her senior dog foster siblings have started to teach her the beauty of chill and naps.
Descriptors: Playful. Social. Friendly. Affectionate. Goober. Happy. Beautiful.
What makes us laugh: Her snorting pig impersonation. Her old-lady-trying-to-get-out-of-her-recliner grunting impersonation.
Her most show stopping features: Those speckles and her different colored eyes 🤩
What we love most: How she's a wonderful breed ambassador. How she thinks she's a lap dog. When she cozies up for belly rubs.
What she loves most: Tennis balls. frisbees. Stuffed toys. Fetching and running around with said toys. Nyla Bones. Sticks. Treats. Going for walks. Napping next to her foster family.
What she knows: "Shake". Still working on a consistent "sit" and "stay".
Working on: Turning on her listening ears. 4 on the floor when excited. Not pulling on leash.
Kids: She is fostered with a 9 year old boy, who she adores. She would be happy to live with kiddos in her forever home, but as she can be an exuberant, energetic, bull in a china shop at times, sturdier kiddos will be best.
Dogs: Sure! She is fostered with multiple dogs and does very well
Cats: Unknown, has not met a cat....but HAS met a chicken and was OK if that counts for anything? 😉
House-trained: Yes
Crate-trained: Yes, but if she hears you home and you haven't let her out of her crate yet, you will definitely hear about it.

Piper is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is available for adoption to CT and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from omdrescue.org
