Wesley's Story...
Breed: American Fuzzy Lop Size: Small size male Color: Himalayan (white with brown nose and ears) Approximate DOB: 2/15/2010 Reason in rescue: This boy was the last Easter bunny left at Tractor Supply. We took him because of the absolutely horrible shape he was in. He was mite ridden, missing most of the hair on his face, and was one giant mat covered in feces. At only about 5 weeks old!! Personality: Wesley is extremely extremely sweet. He has gone from a shy bunny to an extremely outgoing boy who loves humans and who loves to be cuddle. He likes to be held and snuggled with on our couch and will grind his teeth in bunny happiness. He loves his playtime and runs around and binkies, and runs right up to you for cuddle time! He is going to make someone a fantastic bunny! Special Needs: Wesley has a sensitive stomach because he was weaned too early. He can have soft poop at times, so you have to be very, very watchful over what he is fed. He sometimes overproduces Cecals but it is never diarreah. He also will need brushed at least every other day to avoid matting!! No exceptions! Matting on rabbits can become very cruel and make them form sores and other issues, so he must be brushed and dematted, and if needed, trimmed. Friends: Right now Wesley is not living with any other bunnies, but he is a good candidate, once he is neutered, to be bonded with a spayed female. He is good with polite cats and dogs. Requirements: Must be adopted as an indoor animal, with an as large as possible plastic bottomed cage or puppy pen. Adoption process: An adoption application must be filled out (email for the application), and approved by us. Then we will arrange a meeting time to see the animal of interest. A home visit is required prior to adoption. Suggested adoption donation is $65 with a $40 refund when we recieve proof that he has been neutered. He MUST be neutered between 4-6 months of age, no exceptions. **Please email if you are interested in adoption. We respond to all emails within 24 hours** Recommended Food: Oxbow or Kaytee alfalfa pellets (until 6 months), timothy/alfalfa hay, limited veggies Bedding: Newspaper, Yesterday's News, Cellsorb, or Carefresh

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Wesley, a Edinburg American Fuzzy Lop was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Fuzzy Lop for sale in Edinburg, or seeking a American Fuzzy Lop from a breeder in Edinburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Edinburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Edinburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Fuzzy Lop breeders who help with American Fuzzy Lop rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Edinburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
