My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*EXPERIENCED DO OWNER REQUIRED*

Meet our frisky friend named Horchata! This little gal is filled with spunk! We believe she is still a puppy under 1 year old, and she has lots of puppy quirks. Horchata came to us after she was found camped out in a woodsy spot in town. We are not sure if she was dumped there on purpose, but she had been there for more than a few days before we were called. Horchata is a funny little dog who loves to run around and play with toys. She is still a bit afraid of the leash, but we are working with her on being comfortable with things around her neck area. Horchata loves being picked up. The best way to catch her is to get low on the ground with a towel or blanket, and she will usually run right into your arms. She is a runner and we believe she could be a flight risk, so her owners must be diligent in watching her when outside. A fenced in yard would be preferable, but she is small and can fit through small openings. She is a jumpy girl and can still be a bit mouthy, but she is a fun little dog! Horchata is good with other dogs and is fine with cats as well. She can go to a home with children 10 years old and older.
If you are interested in adopting Horchata, Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application!

MAC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. The office phone number is 203-235-4179. Leave a message, and someone will call you back promptly.

You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal.

An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments.

ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME.
For more info please call 203-235-4179 (Always Leave A Message) or email adopt@savingpawsct.org
