My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dusty Joe!

The one you’ve all been waiting for, Dusty Joe here! I'm an adventurous little squeeze weighing just 13 pounds. Give me a backyard and I will explore it. Preferably by your side but sometimes I get crazy and bust out a jog. I get to take my foster siblings on in "tossy". That means I get to escape the fenced area and run free. No worries, I’m not that fast and you can always catch me. So whether you have a fenced in yard or not, it’s OK, just keep your eye on me. Speaking of eyes….my eyes are a pinch compromised but if you stay in view of my left eye, I will be your shadow for life. After these explorations I’ve been known to curl up and take a long nap. I enjoy being in the bed with you but if that’s not an option, I understand and find the nearest comfy spot and snooze. Don’t worry about waking me up, I struggle with my hearing. Matter of fact vacuums bother me any and probably not loud kids either, but I haven’t encountered those little tikes yet, so who knows. Other dogs? No worries there. I appreciate the pack life. Cats? I don’t know yet, since I haven't met any of them yet.

I’m looking for someone(s) that will be by my side for the long haul. Only God knows what that "long haul" could be. I already have 10 years experience on life but I could have 5, 6, 7 or more left. I can’t tell you much about my first ten years except I found myself in a rescue with ear infections and in need of some dental work. But no fear, Albert's Dog Lounge took care of that stuff and will find me my perfect family cuz its time to enjoy the easy life now.

I follow my foster parents around like a sticky booger. They don’t seem to mind. The lady one just cleans as if I'm not a bother, plus I help her with the office work. I do trip her up a few times a day (hehehe) cuz I’m quick. The man one lets me use his power drill (we hung a couple doors together - booyah), plus he has the most cuddly lap. It’s nice here but having my own home would be fabulous because I think I’m a grazer. I eat on my schedule. Soft food, wet food, crunchy food…..If I likes it, I eats it! I just can't do that here because I have some piggy foster sisters.

I have a zest for life and I want to share it with you. Do you want to share it with me?

Disclaimer: It is VERY difficult even for a veterinarian to tell the exact age of a dog over two years old. From one vet to another, we can get different age estimates on the same dog and they can vary by several years. We are only making an educated guess based on a few factors like teeth, fur color, and overall body condition, but for dogs who have not been given adequate vet care and food, it can be even more difficult. Every dog is an individual, and we do our very best to age appropriately but make no guarantees as to the age of any dog in our program.
