Rupert's estimated DOB is 01/25/2010 and he's a brown and white Pit Bull Terrier/Shepherd mix. Rupert is a GREAT boy! His favorite things in the world involve window gazing and playing tug of war with his person. Rupert was recently in a wonderful foster home and they discovered that he definitely picks his person! Even though it might take him some time to warm up to his person, when he falls in love with you all he wants to do is be by your side, be loved by you, and do everything you say. The person who found him had cats who he got along with, initially he would run after them but it turned out that all he wanted to do was give them kisses! He also ADORES children!! He has never met a child who he doesn't like and is the most gentle, sweet loving boy when they are around. Rupert has wonderful manners in the home, he is housetrained but it is probably best if he had a secure outdoor area to stay in when you're not home because he is the proverbial 'bull in a china shop' when he gets excited. When Rupert isn't staring out the window daydreaming he is a very high energy dog - he loves to be active!
Rupert was previously adopted out to a farm house where he did super well until he was left alone outside and went on a couple "adventures" (which isn't safe in the country with people who might not know how friendly he is!).
Please come meet this good boy who just needs a loving home with a fenced in yard!
All of our pets are fixed, up to date on their vaccinations, and microchipped. The Haven of the Ozarks is open form 9am-4pm, seven days a week. Adoption fees are as follows: Puppies under the age of 6 months - $150 Dogs weighing 30 pounds and less - $200 Dogs over 6 months old- $90 Cats under the age of 6 months old - $75 Cats over the age of 6 months old - $65

We are a no-kill sanctuary for stray and abandoned dogs and cats, and for those left homeless by the death of their guardian. We provide an environment as homelike as possible with lots of loving care to our furry residents. It may take days or years, but we will always keep trying for all of the animals in our care. Volunteers and donations are always needed and welcome!
