My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you in search of a furry bundle of joy that will forever change your life? Look no further than Bear! This innocent, lovable pup is looking for a permanent home and will make the perfect addition to any family.

Bear may be a power chewer, but that doesn't take away from his playful and loving personality. He adores snuggles, belly rubs, and head scratches, and is the most affectionate kisser you'll ever meet. Once timid at first, Bear is quick to warm up and become a loyal companion who will be glued to your side.

With his love for snacks and chew toys, Bear will keep himself entertained and out of trouble. You'll never find your belongings destroyed or chewed up with Bear around - he'll have his own toys to keep him occupied and happy. He is currently potty training and learning basic commands such as sit, stay, and come.

Adopting Bear will not only change his life, but yours too. You'll gain a friend for life who will provide unconditional love and companionship for years to come.

So, what are you waiting for? Come meet Bear today and take the first step towards FUR-ever happiness!

Additional information:

  • We are not a shelter.
  • All of our dogs are at private fosters.
  • We only set up meets with approved adopters.
  • If you want to meet our adoptable dogs, many pups will be at Brewhound for Fur Sisters Friday most Fridays from 6-8 pm.
  • Adopters are chosen based on the best fit for each dog, it is not first come, first served.
  • We do not 'hold' dogs.
  • Please note: we have many dogs who are not yet listed as available due to the availability of volunteer time to post or because they are puppies. If you are looking for a dog, we recommend filling out an application and indicating what you are looking for in a dog. Our volunteers work hard to match approved applicants with the best dogs for their lifestyle

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Applications are reviewed by volunteers who also do background and reference checks. NOTE: We only accept local applications.

2.

Interview

After applicants pass the application review and checks, we set up a phone screening to go over any questions and to request a home video.

3.

Approve Application

Approved applicants do a "sleepover" with the dog before finalizing adoption. This is up to a week or so.

Additional adoption info

Local adoptions only! (Northeast Florida)

If you are considering adoption but are not 100% sure about the lifetime commitment, please consider fostering!
Fostering allows us to pull dogs from shelters, is at no cost to you, and you get to help save lives. If you decide the furbaby is a good fit for you and your family, you can move forward with the adoption process.
