Dollar is a ragdoll who is shy at first and then very loving. In this video, he is following around his foster mom politely meowing to ask for pets and chin scratches. What an affectionate cat! He needs someone who is super patient, and understands he will take some time to warm up. To gently bring him out of his shell, wet food, Churu treats, and time is the key. Once he does, he is a huge lover. He wants to be social so much, and he takes his cues from the other cats. His ideal home would have another friendly cat. He will need at least one month to adjust. He loves to talk. A lot. And he loves his wet food. Overall he needs someone who doesn’t want the social butterfly, but the one on one attention and love. When the house is full he hides. When it’s just one or two people he is comfortable with, he is all over them wanting attention. He is not a match for small children, but he is ok with calm teenagers. He could care less about dogs as long as they stay out of his personal space. They’re just there and he walks right past them. Each cat will come to their new home neutered or spayed, with age-appropriate vaccines, individually tested negative for FeLV, FIV and heartworms, and microchipped.
They can travel along I-35 in Texas with rescue partner for a small donation. Transport is available to most southern states, CT, NY, PA, ME, NJ and a few other states for $175. All out of state adoptions/transport MUST have an Interstate Health Certificate by a qualified veterinarian for $85. We do not adopt out to Florida or California as those states have an abundance of Siamese needing placement within their respective states.
Three personal references, a veterinary reference, a completed application, an adoption contract, and an adoption donation are required for adoption. To apply online, go here: https://www.soscatrescue.net/adopt
