My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

INDOOR ONLY HOMES PLEASE

Poptart was one of twenty domestic rabbits rescued from a Hemet neighborhood in April 2023. Upon examination after rescue, we discovered his front incisors were not lining up (malocclusion).

He was neutered June 12, 2023 and his four front incisors were extracted which is the normal treatment for maloccclusson. He is eating hay and pellets normally. His mouth (where his incisors used to be) should be visually inspected every month or two and we can show you how do that.

Sweet, quiet, and enjoying the comforts of a home instead of the streets, Poptart is ready for the next stop in his journey. He would probably do best in a calm household with a patient person willing to draw his personality out of him. He is friendly but still learning about inside life and if he could speak he'd say he's loving it!

Could you be the one to continue showing him that life is good and that people can be trusted? There's not an ounce of aggression in him. He's just a gentle soul exploring this new thing called being a house rabbit.

Poptart should start out living in an exercise pen (x-pen) otherwise known as a puppy pen. He can have that as his home base or transition to a room or a section of a room or free roaming. A cage/hutch is not recommended unless the door is open and an x-pen can be placed around it.

Please be over 21 if inquiring about a rabbit.

Poptart can be seen by appointment in Lake Elsinore after a questionnaire is completed or a phone consultation conducted. On adoption day, plan to spend approximately one hour at the rescue going over paperwork and general rabbit care information. Delivery is available up to 100 miles from Lake Elsinore.

PLEASE consult with the rescue before you purchase rabbit supplies so you can be directed to the least expensive and most appropriate rabbit essentials, especially if you’ve never had the pleasure of owning a rabbit! Your local big chain pet store is probably NOT the best place to buy rabbit supplies!
