Due to factors beyond our control, transport costs for our Puppy Mill survivors are much higher than what we have been accustomed to - costs for health certificates and medical + transport for each dog with no allowances for shared crates. With these factors taken into account, as well as the care needs for all of the animals in our adoption program, we need to request a donation above our normal request. Depending which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a donation in the range of $450- $850 from each adopter. $250 of that donation will be used toward the cost of transport. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

Home Recommendation: Due to Springsteen's sight and hearing impairments, we are looking for a home experienced and dedicated to the training, socialization, and care of a special needs dog. Springsteen has had these Issues since birth and would do best in a home with another dog (or multiple) to help guide him. His family should also be prepared to take him to a professional trainer experienced with sight and hearing impaired dogs.
Personality: Springsteen is a typical puppy who enjoys play time, naps, and cuddles. He is an active breed dog who will need mental and physical enrichment.
Kids: Above the age of 13 due to his special needs

Training: Springsteen is very young and has special needs. His family must be 100% committed to his training so he can be a well-adjusted, happy boy!
Why did he come to WISE? Puppy mills overbreed to the point where they produce more dogs than they can sell. Dogs like Springsteen were rejected for reasons ranging from birth defects, being born with the wrong color fur or eyes, or just simply because no one wanted to purchase them. When the dogs are not sold, the puppy mills destroy them, and it is legal to do so. WISE has recently partnered with a group to save these unwanted dogs - healthy, unhealthy, and/or with birth defects - who are destined to be killed for no reason.
