Mable is special needs:
*Mable is a tripod (back leg amputated)
*likes men and women
*kid friendly
*cat friendly
*passive dog friendly
Mable has been through a lot since coming into Fairy Tails. She was surrendered to Fairy Tails due to an injury her owners couldn’t afford to take care of. The injury resulted in her needing a rear leg amputated. Mable is a tripod! Although she only has 3 legs, that does not slow her down. She’s great with the dog respectful toddler in her foster home. She doesn’t bother the cats in every day living. She has done okay with dog introductions. Her hair does stand up with a little growel upon initial introduction. She seems to have an assertive personality. It would be best if other pets in the home are passive. She has food protectiveness - she has chased the cat off from her food dish. We have not had food with her around other dogs and recommend if there are dogs in the home to feed and give treats separately. She does fine with her foster person sticking her hand in the dish while eating or taking the bowl away. We have not had fed her around the toddler in her foster home, but the toddler has given her treats. We also suspect some toy protectiveness. The cat had a cat nip mouse that Mable kind of chased her for, when the cat dropped it, Mable didn’t even want it. So it was like she didn’t want it but the cat couldn’t have it either. If there are other dogs in the home that don’t care about toys it would be fine, but I would be nervous if the other dog loved their toys or were protective too. In rescue we do keep all of our pets on leash or in a fenced in yard. Mable does seem to have a strong come when called, but she also seems to have a hound like nose that may get the best of her. Although Mable only has 3 legs, she does still need activity due to her breed to prevent her from getting bored and starting bad behavior. She loves her daily walks in her foster home. She also loves to cuddle up on the couch with you, and often greats you with a smile!
