My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What do you get when you cross a killer whale, a dragon, and a hound dog with a touch of greyhound? You get Orca!

Orca is a 9 month old hound mix, who loves other dogs and cats. She's been in a foster home for three months and has done very well in a home environment.
She is house trained, crate trained, and working on her leash skills.

She loves toys and other things and will store them in her crate like a dragon with its horde, and especially loves fluffy toys, but needs hard toys to keep her safe. She loves cuddling on the couch, and her Zoomies around the yard will rival any greyhound for speed.

Orca says her ideal person will have a canine playmate for her to romp with, and she wouldn't mind a cat or two either. She is a little shy at first, but will stick to to you like glue when she finds her person. Make an appointment to see her today!

More about this rescue

The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina's mission is to serve as a safe haven for homeless and neglected pets and act as a resource to the community. By educating the public about issues pertaining to animals, we feel that we can work towards the elimination of over breeding of dogs and cats and teach owners to be responsible pet owners. At the same time, we hope to facilitate adoption of pets to good homes so that we can allow more unwanted animals to find a temporary home with us.
