Olive is a shy and quiet 7-year old Shih Tzu who weighs about 19 pounds. She was a breeder prior to coming to Wish Bone and likely didn't have much socialization. Olive is reserved and timid, but she's making progress in her foster home. Because everything is new and scary to her right now, she will need a secure fenced yard. If her future home has kids, they need to be older kids who are respectful of her space and understand they need to be gentle and go slowly with her.
We think Olive will be happiest in a quiet home with another confident canine friend to help show her the ropes. She loves other dogs and looks to them for guidance. Olive is learning what toys are and enjoys time in the yard.
Her foster mom shared: " Olive is a very sweet girl who really wants to trust people, but she is still a bit apprehensive. She will come into the same room as you and wag her tail, but she is very cautious. She does great in her crate and goes potty outside. She is getting a bit more comfortable with being held and receiving pets. She would be better off in a home with a fenced yard and no small children. She just needs some time and patience to come out of her shell."
If you have room in your heart and home for Olive, apply today! Her minimum adoption fee is $400 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.
She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
