Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**ERNIE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!** Ernie is an adorable, sweet beefcake of a pup looking for a forever home! Ernie and his brother, Bert, were rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in rural Kentucky. Ernie is estimated to be around 5 months old and weighs in at 45 pounds. Given his current weight and age, we anticipate a mature size of 75-90 pounds. His breed mix is unknown, but his appearance suggests Boxer, Bullmastiff or Mastiff, and possibly some German Shepherd somewhere in their family tree. Ernie is being fostered in Chicago, patiently waiting to find his forever family. He loves meeting new people and dogs and is an amiable, easy-going dude. Ernie loves wrestling with his brother and other canine foster siblings, ice cubes, walking around the neighborhood, and sunning himself in the yard and is more on the mellow side for a dog his age. He is crate trained and does very well with his housebreaking when kept on a regular schedule. Please remember that puppies this age need frequent potty breaks (every 3-5 hours or so) and a generous amount of playtime and exercise during the day for the next several months, so please consider if you truly have the time for a puppy before applying.
Ernie is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and taking monthly flea and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee to the rescue is $475. He can be visited by appointment once an application has been submitted to the rescue. For more information or an application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org. Adoption applications and correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are waiting for our reply, please check those folders regularly. We cannot hold our dogs for any reason. Please do not apply unless you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into the home within three days of applying.
