MEET CHEWBACCA - Chewbacca is a gorgeous purebred golden retriever. He just turned 2 years old recently. Chewy is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Whoever adopts Chewbacca will be getting a friend for life! Chewy is a good boy, he aims to please and very loving. But please note: Chewy was originally purchased from a breeder and then been moved to 3 different homes since he was a puppy due to people buying puppies in apartments and not being able to keep him. He's on our ranch now, He is a little insecure because of his moving around and can be reactive to other dogs and sometimes growls when scared. He did live with another dog and we’re told they got along well. He has improved so much, He no longer barks at the other dogs here even when they bark at him. He may do it in the beginning in a new home with unfamiliar dogs, So introductions and patience is key.
Chewbacca enjoys car rides, splashing in water (he chases pollywogs in the pond), fetch, and is sweet and playful. He's doing great on the leash and has been hiking with me. He knows all the basics, sit, down, shake, stay (Stay is iffy, but improving) we are working on Heel and he is doing great on the leash. He needs stability (a forever home) and parents familiar with golden retriever emotions. Goldens are sensitive, empathetic, amazing, intelligent dogs, they do need training along with love and understanding their temperament. Chewbacca is very praise motivated.
