Stella Rose is a 6 year old, 70lb, GSD mix who would be such a wonderful family addition.
Stella is currently in a foster home with 2 other medium sized dogs (one male, one female). She has seamlessly integrated. She loves the company of other dogs, will initiate play with dogs that like to play but also respects dogs that don’t. Stella does appear to like to be the leader of the pack but has shown no signs of aggression, even around food. Stella passed a cat test at the shelter before coming to us but has not been around cats in her foster home.
Stella has been wonderful with her foster mom’s 5 year old son. She does not jump up but will give sneaky kisses if she thinks she can get away with it ? She is very relaxed around kids and does not mind loud toys or kids running around. She will sleep right next to her foster mom’s son as he plays (loudly)!
Stella is fully housebroken and does not get anxiety when nobody is at home, she is not destructive. She does not get car sick and generally will sit quietly. Stella knows sit and shake and will take treats very gently.
Stella was a dog-walker favorite at the shelter and is a favorite here too, she is great on the leash and easy to manage. She loves her walks but is also a couch potato/snuggler, she is the perfect blend of active and relaxed and will match your energy level.
Stella has clearly come from a family environment and we would love to see her find her own forever home. She would fit into most environments, she loves people as much as other dogs. She is friendly to all visitors and not overwhelming. Ideally a family with a decent sized yard for zoomies or regular walks but not essential. She will do a 5 mile hike with you or watch Netflix all day.
Stella recently had a full physical and is in great health! She's so ready to win your heart just like she has with ours!
