Hello Lovely Folks,

I'm Elsa, a gorgeous calico gal with beautiful speckled eyes and adorable nose freckles! My coat is brown, cream and caramel-- I've been told I look like a wonderful ice-cream sundae (tee hee!) and am just as sweet!

I am a social, lap cat: as soon as you sit down, I will approach you and politely ask for pets. I love to be petted everywhere, but especially on my head, chin and behind my ears. Pretty soon, you will hear me purring as we settle in for some wonderful cuddling time. I'm very relaxed and gentle. I'm 9 ½ years old and do need to be your only cat and in a quiet, stress-free environment. So please no super loud music, lots of folks coming and going, etc. I prefer quiet and calm. In return, I will give you my loving, gentle self for all the years of my life! I am on a special diet to ensure I don't develop urinary issues (note: I don't have them). I tolerate this diet just fine and have no medical needs.

I was returned to MaxFund through no fault of my own: after many years together, my guardian was experiencing declining health. I'm very grateful for the time we had and am now looking forward to my fur-ever home!

Our adoption fees are as follows:
Kittens up to six months are $100
Cats seven months to seven years are $75
Senior cats eight years and older are $50
FIV+ and FELV cats up to 7 years $25
FIV+ and FELV+ cats 8 years and up $15
Puppies under the age of six months are $200
Dogs over six months and under eight years are $125
Dogs over eight years of age are $75
All animals come spayed/neutered, are current on vaccinations including rabies, and have been micro-chipped prior to adoption. The application process can take several days, depending on how long it takes us to get in contact with your references, your landlord, and your veterinarian. Once your application has been approved we will call you and let you know, and set up an approximate pick up time and date. This can take several days, so please be patient. If your application is denied, you will not receive a call.

Same as the dog shelter except that during the weekdays instead of opening at 10 we open at 11am.

The MaxFund is a non-profit organization that was established in May of 1988 to provide medical care for injured pets with no known owners, and to seek out new homes for these animals once they have recovered. The MaxFund is a no-kill dog and cat shelter. MaxFund assists hundreds of people and animals each year by trying to make the correct match between owner and pet. MaxFund adopts our animals to Colorado residents only.

The MaxFund is a TRUE no-kill shelter. There is no pre-sorting of animals into "adoptable" and "non-adoptable" categories, discarding the so-called "unadoptable." The MaxFund takes every animal it has the space for. EVERY animal is kept until its owner is found or it is placed in a new adoptive home.
