Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, my name is Vaca and I am a sweet and shy border collie mix who is on the hunt for my forever home! I was really nervous when I first came into the SPCA, but my friends here have really showed me that meeting new friends isn't all too scary and that it is really fun to play with new friends!

Kids? Since I am a bit on the timid side, I'm not too sure about little ones. I would like to meet any kiddos in the home to make sure they know to go slow with me!

Dogs? I'm not super comfortable with new dog friends just yet, so I might be best on my own. I am willing to meet potential doggie friends at the shelter before we head home! I think I would be ok with a calmer dog who is well socialized and can help me learn how to dog.

To adopt a pet from the SPCA of Texas, we not only help make love connections, but we then walk you through an adoption process that is geared to ensuring you and the pet are a great match. There is a contract to sign at the end of the process. Adoption fees are as follows:

Puppies 0-6 months: $150
Adult dogs 6 months or older: $75

The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations (which can include Rabies, Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo, Parainfluenza and Bordetella), spay/neuter surgery, deworming treatment, initial heartworm preventative, a rabies tag, Free health examination within fourteen days of the adoption thanks to our partnership with VCA Animal Hospitals, a leash and a microchip. Dogs over 6 months of age are also given a heartworm test (SNAP occult). Free week of training through Good Pup.

Also included is a free week of training through Good Pup.
