My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Corrie originally came to the refuge in really bad shape. She had been spotted with her puppies but could not be caught. One of her puppies was finally captured and adopted…and about 3 weeks after capturing her puppy, Corrie was able to be captured.
Corrie had been shot multiple times, and a witness saw her get hit by a car. But Corrie is a fighter and a survivor! She still has at least one bullet lodged in her back area. It would do more damage to remove it then to just leave it. Corrie shows some neurological issues, mainly in the way she walks and runs. But she can get up on the couch on her own, she can run and keep up with all the dogs, and she is a happy girl! Corrie goes to fundraising events with us and regularly attends our library program where we bring dogs to read with the kids. Corrie would love to have her very own person or family!

More about this rescue

Welcome to Rocky Road Refuge, a 501c3 nonprofit animal sanctuary in Muenster, Texas that serves our local, rural community by providing a loving home to animals in need. We are a working ranch with many ranch animals, including cows, goats, ducks, chickens, rabbits, cats and dogs...lots of dogs.
The main animal population we currently serve is dogs in need. We work with our local shelter, Easy Street Animal Shelter, and others in our community to fill needs as they arise. We currently have 20 + dogs, including senior dogs that will live their life out on the ranch, abandoned dogs, shelter dogs, foster dogs, some working dogs and a few of our original crew from before we began this crazy adventure!
We hope you will join us in our animal journey by sharing our page and posts, donating money or supplies, purchasing items we sell to fund our mission or simply by doing what you can for animals in need that come across your path!
You know the old saying, "Saving one animal won’t change the world, but it will change the world for that one animal."
