My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Penny is bonded with her brother Leo.  Thier foster affectionately calls them tweedle dee and tweedle dum.  They tumble and play hard together, and can be found snuggling quite frequently.  Leo is the more outwardly social of the two (will BEG for belly scritches), but Penn comes in a close second.  She loves to be near and get chin rubs in particular.  Feather toys, overarching exciting things, and bird watching all get the chatter going.

If Disney were to illustrate a "teenage" tabby kitten for a new movie, the result would look a lot like Penny.  She's got a pert little nose, round face, and big luminous eyes.  She's happiest receiving chin scritches and lounging adjacent to you on a quiet afternoon.  Penny will on a dime swap from playtime with her brother to a good scratch session on her favorite cardboard lounger or corded post, with some possible human snuggles in this mix.  Her current favorite spots to nap include the hanging basket on the cat tree or curled with a sibling in a cozy bed, but with time may discover that human laps are the best thing since sliced bread.

She is a very proper lady, and her litter box habits are immaculate.

Because all of our kitties are in foster homes we do visitations with our cats with pre-approved adoption applications. We place our kittens and cats in homes with the best fit based on personality, age, and location.

Adoption events are held at Petsmart in Corvallis, Oregon. Events will be posted on our website, www.keithaskittierescue.org, and our Facebook page as well as advertised through partners.

All our cats can be seen via a pre-arranged "meet & greet" at anytime.

We do not have a brick and mortar shelter, but we have wonderful, caring foster homes.

More about this rescue

Keitha’s Kittie Rescue was created on August 10, 2017. and became a non-profit, 501(c)(3) on December 27, 2017. We just recently taken another rescue under our wing, Calapooia Critters Rescue and Transport.

The other shelters in the area often require owners to pay a fee to abandon their animal, or overcrowded and not able to take the animal, have the owner make an appointment to assess the animal or there is no local shelter in the community, and sometimes the animals a stray and takes time to adjust before being adopted or they need medical care. Keitha’s Kittie Rescue is all volunteer, foster based shelter.

Volunteers care for the cats and kittens in their homes. Adoption events are also held at Petsmart in Corvallis, Oregon. All money goes for the cats litter, food and medical care.

Our mission is to create a safe environment and find a future home for the unwanted, unloved, forgotten cats that no other rescue will take. We get a lot of injured, ill, and abused cats. Our veterinarian bills are quite high but we do what we can to raise funds and keep our animals in the best health. We NEVER euthanize unless it is extremely necessary. We have a few hospice foster homes where an animal can live out the rest of its days in love and comfort. It is our calling, our focus, and our main drive in life.
