My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miss Daisey Mae is still as soft as a bunny, and has ONE bright white eyebrow whisker that makes you think she's questioning you or raising that eyebrow in slight disdain.  She's the shyest of the batch, but will start warming up by nesting or resting adjacent to you, then slowly seeking pets.  If she's really lovey, if you stop petting her ear zone she will reach her paw out to say, "hey, I wasn't done" and tap you on the hand or arm for emphasis.  Her claws are never out when she does this gentle reminder.  She LOVES the spinny puzzle toy Iwhich has a rotating treat ball with holes suspended over a small puzzle tray.  She will go and sit by it expectantly, and move to small sweet mews for emphasis.

Some cats take a while to set their boundaries and personality as they grow out of the kitten stage, but Daisy Mae has wasted no time discovering who she is and what she likes.  She's a watcher, always evaluating and digesting each situation to determine whether she's "in" or "out" before engaging.  On a resume you might highlight this as "emotional intelligence", so she's just a really astute young cat. There are "spirit animals", but if Daisy Mae were to declare a "spirit human" it might be a New Yorker.  She's a beautiful, sleek tuxedo girl who knows her preferences.  She receives affection and is grateful for snacks, but sometimes that's all she wants/needs in an interaction.

She has excellent litter box manners. She would do well with other cats, a cat-savvy dog, or kids.

Because all of our kitties are in foster homes we do visitations with our cats with pre-approved adoption applications. We place our kittens and cats in homes with the best fit based on personality, age, and location.

Adoption events are held at Petsmart in Corvallis, Oregon. Events will be posted on our website, www.keithaskittierescue.org, and our Facebook page as well as advertised through partners.

All our cats can be seen via a pre-arranged "meet & greet" at anytime.

We do not have a brick and mortar shelter, but we have wonderful, caring foster homes.

More about this rescue

Keitha’s Kittie Rescue was created on August 10, 2017. and became a non-profit, 501(c)(3) on December 27, 2017. We just recently taken another rescue under our wing, Calapooia Critters Rescue and Transport.

The other shelters in the area often require owners to pay a fee to abandon their animal, or overcrowded and not able to take the animal, have the owner make an appointment to assess the animal or there is no local shelter in the community, and sometimes the animals a stray and takes time to adjust before being adopted or they need medical care. Keitha’s Kittie Rescue is all volunteer, foster based shelter.

Volunteers care for the cats and kittens in their homes. Adoption events are also held at Petsmart in Corvallis, Oregon. All money goes for the cats litter, food and medical care.

Our mission is to create a safe environment and find a future home for the unwanted, unloved, forgotten cats that no other rescue will take. We get a lot of injured, ill, and abused cats. Our veterinarian bills are quite high but we do what we can to raise funds and keep our animals in the best health. We NEVER euthanize unless it is extremely necessary. We have a few hospice foster homes where an animal can live out the rest of its days in love and comfort. It is our calling, our focus, and our main drive in life.
