A group of kayakers and I were preparing to go down the Kentucky River when we were greeted by a starving dog covered in hundreds of ticks and begging for food. When we left, the dog began running along the shoreline, following us, then fell off a steep muddy bluff into a part of the river where he would drown. Somehow we pulled him out of the water, put him in a kayak, and brought him back to Ohio since we learned he would be euthanized if he stayed in the area.
We named him “Kentucky ‘ Tuck’ River.” He is a beautiful amber Shepherd mix. He is very mentally and physically healthy and sweet. He loves to play, LOVES to love and be loved, and loves to be brushed. He is an attention hound. He has zero aggression towards people, even while eating. He knows sit, stay, wait, come, no, and no pull.
