Please read the bio in its ENTIRETY. If you feel your family is a perfect match, please send an email to gateway4paws@gmail.com for additional information. Only complete & qualified applications will be considered or contacted for adoptions. We are a 100% foster-based rescue. Applications can be found on our website at gateway4paws.org.

We do not allow shipping & do not transport. You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & able to drive for a meet and greet.

If you aren’t familiar with the breed, please do some research before applying. Applicants with EB experience will be given preference. This is not an ‘easy’ breed to own, but we know it is very rewarding & EB owners are passionate about this breed.

Sassy has all the typical traits of an EB. She can hear perfectly but chooses not to listen and does what she wants when she wants to. She does walk on a leash but in EB fashion, it may not be in the direction you want to go. A fenced yard is best for her safety, but it is not required. However, she should never be off leash when not in a fenced area.

We were told during her last litter, Sassy was ‘picked on’ & teased by children. She hasn’t been around small children in our care, so would be safer to say “no small children" just to make sure we keep everyone, including Sassy, safe. Sassy doesn't seem to get along with other dogs so she will need to be the only dog in the home.

Sassy has a ton of those adorable English Bulldog rolls. Her family will have to keep an eye on her rolls, they need to be dried out sometimes. She does great just hanging in the house. She is pretty independent; she lumbers around just passing the day away. She won’t signal to go outside, so her family will need to establish a routine & get her set on it. She needs practice & patience to continue her potty-training plan.

We are hoping the perfect family is watching & will apply to take her home. She will be a fabulous best friend to binge with on the couch!
