My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nala’s story starts out as a bit of a sad one. She spent her early life out on the mean streets of Houston as part of a colony of community cats. She was very thin and was struggling to find whatever food she could to survive. Nala was eventually trapped, along with her 7 newborn kittens, and taken to the pound. The plan for her was to be vetted, spayed and released back onto the streets, as she was deemed feral. But Nala was given a chance to go to a foster home to raise her kittens, and once there, her foster mom realized how sweet she was and knew this girl deserved a better life than a life on the streets. Nala was an amazing and attentive mom to her kittens, despite practically being a kitten herself. Now that her babies have grown up and gone to good homes, Nala is ready to be someone’s baby.

Nala deserves a home with lots of love, all the comforts of a soft bed, shelter from the rain, cold and heat, and all the wet food she could ever want (she loves her wet food!). She is simply too sweet for the streets. Nala was very shy at first and took a while to learn to trust humans, but fast forward to today and this little lady is a love bug whose favorite pastime is snuggling in bed with her foster mom or sitting by her desk while she works. Her second favorite pastime is watching Bird TV on YouTube – especially trying to get those crazy blue jays. Nala’s talents include standing on her hind legs for Churu treats and jumping 3 feet up a wall to catch the elusive red laser dot. She is a very peaceful cat but also loves playtime and sometimes get the zoomies. She is a petite girl with the cutest little toe beans.

Nala gets along fine with other cats and would enjoy having a young, playful cat to hang out with. She has done great with the resident cats but can be a little timid if they are too aggressive with her (understandably). She is always very respectful of the other cats’ space. Nala also would do well as an only cat, so long as her human is there to give her the love and care she deserves. She has never met a dog or been around children, so it is probably best that she be in a home with adults only, or older kids who have the patience to let her explore and adapt at her own pace. All cats are spayed/neutered, current on shots, microchipped and combo tested.
