Fiona is the perfect mix of playful and well-behaved—she adores running, beach walks, hiking, and exploring the great outdoors, but she also knows when it’s time to relax on the couch and enjoy a quiet moment with her people. She’s incredibly social and does great with other dogs, making her an ideal addition to a home with another pup or a family looking for a loyal sidekick. True to her breed, Fiona is intelligent, eager to please, and quick to learn. She already has great manners and thrives in a structured, loving environment. Whether it’s playing fetch, going for long walks, or just lounging by your side (if working from home!) she’s happiest when she’s part of the action. Also fine in the apartment when left alone and not even one accident! Housebroken and not a chewer! Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
