My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Please meet Rainier a 6 Month Old Anatolian Shepherd/Shepherd Mix Male that is currently weighing in at 32 lbs.  Rainier gets along with other dogs and people.  He will be a bigger breed probably around 65 lbs when full grown. He has a brother, Oly who is also available.  I know these are guardian dogs but they have never been around livestock only other dogs and people.  They need a strong person to handle them and will need training.  They are very friendly and have great personalities.  Rainer is vaccinated, microchip and neutered.

The pup will be attending the National Adoption Weekend at PetSmart in Lacey on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 10 AM to 3 PM and Sunday, July 16, 2023 from 11 AM to 3 PM.  So get a head start and fill out an application before the event to get preapproved. More about this rescue

Woofs and Wags Dog Rescue is a 501(c)3 Non-profit dog rescue in San Diego, CA

Woofs and Wags Dog Rescue was founded by volunteers in San Diego. Our goal is to "Rescue, Rehabilitate, Rehome" rescued dogs from San Diego and Baja California.

We love Baja and understand that it is a struggle for some of the people to provide a proper home and care for their dogs. We rescue dogs that are running through traffic, starving on the streets and have no one to care for them. Sadly, many are in poor condition and need medical care. We provide that care with the help of volunteers and veterinarians on both sides of the border. Our adoption fees are used to pay for the care of these pups.

Our dogs and puppies are kept in loving foster homes until they find their forever homes. If you see a dog/puppy you would like to meet, we will put you in touch with the foster family. We also do adoption events around San Diego, please check our website for upcoming events.

Our "Baja Blends" as we like to call them make wonderful pets and will shower you with love to show you how grateful they are to be in a loving home.

We are most grateful to those who adopt a dog that has been rescued and especially one of ours.
