My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB Oct/20, Tashi is 50% Black Lab (father) and 50% Golden Retriever (mother)

Tashi is blossoming in her foster home!
This precious girl was very nervous when she arrived after living in a barn, but is truly loving life as a beloved pet, discovered how amazing couches and beds are, is eating well, and has now been spayed and had her vetting updated

Tashi loves her foster dog friends and looks to them for confidence in situations where she's unsure. She's a little more timid around loud and barky dogs, but she does warm up when she's given lots of room and time to interact when she feels ready.

Tashi will require another friendly calm dog in her new home to help her blossom, who also doesn't mind sharing their people since she is a velcro girl who loves her people and sometimes puts herself between her foster mom and their dog to seek attention.

NOTES FROM HER FOSTER MOM
She loves getting pets and kisses, so she seeks out a lot of attention. There are times when she does not do this, where she'll be happy to lay in her spot instead of interrupting Willa and I. She has never growled, she just loves affection.

Ideally she would have a dog companion to help her navigate her new home, and people who are home more often.
We have left her alone for up to 3 hours with no issues (uncrated). Tashi will settle on the couch or chair for a nice nap while we are away and is not destructive at all.

She does love to snuggle but is also a young active girl who loves her hikes and going on adventures.

While she would probably love a fenced in backyard, she does tend to jump very high, so would need a minimum 6' tall fence and solid commitment from her new family to be outside and supervising her whenever outdoors.
She is currently fostered in a home without fencing and is adapted to exploring with her foster mom on a long line for her yard time or on walks, so would also be fine without a fenced yard as long as her family did not let her out off leash.

OTHER HABITS/ROUTINES THAT WILL HELP THE DOG SETTLE INTO THEIR NEW HOME: Tashi likes to sleep in my bed and would do well if that continued. She gets up around 6:30am and we go out for a nice sniffy walk outside before breakfast.

HOW DOES YOUR FOSTER DOG RESPOND TO DOGS MET ON WALKS? She usually is curious and wants to interact, but sometimes is a little nervous if they are high energy or loud.

HOW DOES YOUR FOSTER DOG RESPOND TO DOGS SEEN FROM THE YARD OR INSIDE THE HOME?
She will stare at dogs walking across the street, but does not bark. If the dogs are close enough she'll try to move in their direction, but is easily redirected.

HOW DOES YOUR FOSTER DOG RESPOND TO PEOPLE MET ON WALKS?
She really loves people, and loves seeking affection.

GOOD WITH STRANGERS? PLEASE PROVIDE PEOPLE INTERACTION DETAILS. Y
Tashi is great with men, women and children. She's met my three nieces and nephew and does very well with them. Every person she's met she really seems to like and will of course ask for many pets.

GOOD WITH CATS? Not sure, she hasn't met any kitties. She does have a prey drive outdoors, as many dogs do, chasing after chipmunks and bunnies in the yard but is not aggressive. To be safe, a cat free home would be ideal.

STRENGTHS/AREAS THEY HAVE IMPROVED ON: Playing with toys and exploring new items that I bring in (deliveries, groceries, etc). She's super sweet and loves to snuggle, gives the best kisses, and settles very well.

TRANSPORTATION? She rides with a harness and a seatbelt and has no motion sickness.
She seems to like when the window is open a bit beside her-she is always safely tethered with a harness/seat belt. She doesn't react to outside vehicles or people.

For anyone possibly interested in adopting from Hobo Haven, here are a few, but not all, criteria to be aware of:

We require all serious applicants to watched "Petfooled" which is a free documentary at this link https://tubitv.com/movies/494913/pet-fooled
, or on Amazon prime or also a variety of other free video sites.

Our motto is "know better/do better" and we ask all adoptive families to be as committed to providing our dogs with quality nutrition as they are to providing love. This documentary is not advertising, purely just educational.

An adoption application must be completed and approved, including vet references as well as a home visit (Zoom during COVID), prior to meeting available dogs.
All dogs are placed in loving foster homes during their time with us, we do not have a shelter to visit.
We do not allow applicants to visit until pre-approved for adoptions. Our dogs are in private foster family homes, not in a shelter.
Any questions may be emailed to hobohavenpetrescue@gmail.com

Due to the high volume of applications received for our dogs, priority of replies will be given to applicants who meet the criteria mentioned in the pet's profile.

Please do not ask us to make exceptions, we set these protocols and policies for the dog's best interests which are always our highest priority.

Emails are best, our volunteers work full time and are often not able to answer or return phone calls in a timely manner.
