My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hola! My name is ROBBIE (they call be "Rabito" in Mexico, which means "Little Tail") and here is some info about me:

PHYSICAL INFO:

  • Breed: Lab mix

  • Age: 11months

  • Gender: male

  • Weight: 59lbs (27kg)

  • Length (nose to butt): 94cm

  • Height (paws to top of head): 69cm

  • Current Location: MEXICO CITY

RESCUE STORY - I was born on the streets of Mexico and was foundseverely malnourished, along with my two sisters (Mimosa and Carla) when we were only one month old. Living on the streets was so scary and we were so happy to have been rescued! You can learn more about my heartbreaking rescue by watching this video. I required extensive vet care after I was rescued. As you can see, I'm quite the little fighter to have survived all I went through!

TEMPERAMENT - I am told that I am a lovely, friendly and sweet puppy! I love to get affection from my humans and to play with my siblings. I can be shy and skittish with new people, but love to play once I feel comfortable. I am looking for a patient, loving family who is open to working with timidity, housetraining and leashskills. I promise to repay you with loads of cuddles, kisses and tail wags! As I can be a bit shy, I would do best in a home with another friendly dog playmate to help me build my confidence.

ENERGY LEVEL - Medium energy. I can be a bit shy initially, but love to play once I am comfortable!

GETS ALONG WITH:

  • Kids Unknown. I am a young and energetic dog, as such, a home without young kids would be best for me.

  • Dogs I get along well with the other puppies atmy foster. Check out my videos to see! I would do best in a home with another friendly dog playmate to help me build my confidence!

  • Cats Unknown

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I'm not too sure how I'll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

  • Leash skills Work in progress. I am still very young andI will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners. I currently live in a suburban environment and so don't have much exposure to busy urban settings. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success! Here I am going for a walk!

  • House training Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :)

Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners withUnleashed Dog Training(Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters50% offone training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP alsohighly encouragesadopters to do some research and training on their ownbeforetheir dog arrives.

HEALTH NOTES:

  • When I was first rescued, I was severely malnourished and had parasites. My tail had been cut off on the streets. I had wounds and incredibly swollen glands. My chance of survival was low, however my foster family made sure I got all the care I needed. Although my progress was slow, I got stronger and stronger every day and somehow, I survived! I am a healthy boy now, don't worry.

  • I am too young to be neutered still, but I have received all of my puppy vaccinations! I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.

  • I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North.

  • NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.
