My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Stratus, the gentle soul who likes to take life at a calm and relaxed pace. I'm here to tell you all about myself and what makes me unique. I've been given the title of "Couch Potato" because I enjoy lounging and taking it easy.

When it comes to meeting new people, I might be a bit shy and timid at first. It takes me a while to warm up to new faces, and I tend to ignore them if they approach too quickly. I like to set the pace when it comes to social interactions.

I haven't had much experience with other pets, so that's still a bit of a mystery to me.

As for being pet, I'm okay with it, but it has to be on my terms. I need a safe and cozy place to hide, away from noise, people, and stimuli, to feel secure. When I warm up and get comfortable in a space, I absolutely love getting head scratches, chin rubs, and even belly rubs. Playing with a wand toy helps boost my confidence, and I enjoy exploring new spaces, especially at night when it's quiet and peaceful.

What makes me special is that, despite my timid nature, I adore belly rubs. I can be overstimulated and scared quite easily, so gentle, predictable, and slow movements work best for me. I'm a vocal cat, and my voice reflects my feelings. I might let you know when I'm starting to feel irritated or when I simply want more attention.

The perfect family for me would be a patient and calm household that's willing to give me the time and space to open up at my own pace. I would do best with someone who actively works on making me more comfortable, possibly through playtime to help me feel at ease in new areas. It's important to note that I might not be a good fit for households with children, as I can swat and bite when overstimulated. If you're looking for a gentle and loving companion and are ready to offer me the peace and patience I need, I'm Stratus, and I'm ready to be your devoted and loyal feline friend.

Love,
Stratus

P.S. I also qualify for the Foster First Program so you can take me home for two weeks to see how we get along before deciding to adopt me!
