My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Name: Ella

*Age: 4.5 years old

*Current Weight: 55 lbs

*Adoption fee: $475

Introducing Ella, a remarkable 4.5-year-old German Shepherd mix who is searching for her forever home. Despite being a tripod, Ella's spirit is unbreakable, and her capacity for love knows no bounds. This sweet girl may be shy when you first meet her, but once she warms up, you'll discover that she is one of the sweetest and friendliest souls you'll ever encounter. Ella has faced unique challenges in her young life, having lost one of her legs. However, her resilient nature and indomitable spirit have enabled her to adapt and thrive. Ella doesn't let her physical differences hold her back, and she has a zest for life that is truly inspiring. While Ella may take a little time to trust new people, once she forms a bond with you, she will shower you with love and affection. Her wagging tail and gentle demeanor will melt your heart, and you'll quickly realize that Ella is a true treasure. Her love knows no boundaries, and she will be a loyal and devoted companion to the lucky person or family who opens their heart to her. Ella's intelligence and eagerness to please make her a wonderful candidate for ongoing training. She thrives on mental stimulation and will excel with positive reinforcement and consistent guidance. Ella enjoys leisurely walks, exploring the world around her, and engaging in interactive play sessions that keep her mind and body active. If you're an experienced dog owner with a patient and loving heart, Ella could be the perfect addition to your family. Be prepared to be inspired by her strength and resilience as she blossoms into a confident and loving companion. By providing Ella with the care, support, and understanding she needs, you'll gain a lifelong friend who will fill your days with joy and happiness. Are you ready to open your heart and home to Ella?

FAQs -- PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE EMAILING

All adoption fees are non-refundable

If paying by credit card, Venmo, or PayPal there is a set processing fee, generally this fee is under $15 per pet. These processing fees are determined by the form of payment adopters decide to use. By helping with this minimal cost this allows us to save more animals.

Please note that SNARR NE is a volunteer-based organization. While our volunteers will try to respond to you as quickly as possible, it is helpful if you review the below information about our adoption process before emailing:

LISTED BREED(S) & AGE: We are taking our best guess on age, breed, and size when fully grown, based on the puppy's/dog's physical appearance and what we might have learned about one or both parents depending on the situation. *NOTE* We rarely know a dog's exact age, nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. Because we often do not have access to medical records at the time that we are listing for dogs for adoption, there are sometimes discrepancies between what is posted on their profile and what might be listed on a dog's medical records.

SNARR'S ADOPTION PROCESS: The first step in adopting or meeting a SNARR dog/puppy is to fill out an application at https://snarrnortheast.org/adopt/. Once we receive your application, one of our adoption application processors will contact you, review our adoption process with you, and answer any additional questions you may have. **We do not go on a first-come-first-serve basis for adoptions, but on best fit for a family and most importantly the puppy or dog. **

MEETING ADOPTABLE DOGS: Meet and greets will not be scheduled until after your adoption application has been fully processed and approved by one of our adoption processors.

APPLYING ONLINE: If you fill out an online application, please do so from a computer (not a mobile device), make sure you answer ALL the questions in as much detail as possible, and that you receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation email, that means we did NOT receive your application.

More about this rescue

SNARR Northeast Animal Rescue's mission is "Giving Hope to the Hopeless.” SNARR stands for Special Needs Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation. We do focus on animals with special needs but we also rescue perfectly healthy dogs as well! SNARR works with municipal shelters all over the country to save animals at risk for being euthanized. Our dogs (and cats) are all in foster homes prior to being adopted.
