My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! I'm Murray, the most charming orange/white tabby boy you'll ever meet! I was rescued from the shelter alongside my brother, Hopper. While I may seem a bit reserved at first, just give me a moment, and you'll witness my heartwarming transformation. I express myself with a delightful melody of purrs and love "chirping" at my foster parents and feline friends.
My foster mom affectionately calls me "Purry Murray" because my purr engine revs up instantly when you shower me with pets. Oh, did I mention my fondness for treats? Catch me eagerly waiting in the kitchen at lunchtime, ready to showcase my endearing trick of standing on hind legs and pawing for treats.
The coziest spot for me is right by your side – be it on a chair, sofa, or snuggled up in bed. I'm a spirited kitten, reveling in playtime with toys, my dear brother Hopper, and our fellow foster cats. If I'm not frolicking around, you'll likely find me enjoying a peaceful nap. And rest assured, my litter box manners are impeccable, and I've almost mastered the art of using the scratching post.
I thrive in the company of other kitties, so a home with a feline companion would be purr-fect for me. I'm eagerly anticipating finding my forever family. Don't hesitate – fill out that application for me today, and let's embark on a heartwarming journey together!

**Because we require home visits, we only adopt locally to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. For more on adoption policies, please see the How it Works page of our website, www.habitat4paws.org.

Additional adoption info

FEES:
Dogs are $250
Puppies under 1 year are $275
Cats and kittens are $185

All animals have been spayed/neutered, received age appropriate vaccinations, had a heart-worm test, a Feline Leukemia test and a fecal check and are dewormed, microchipped and current on heart-worm and flea preventative medications at the time of adoption.

Adopters must be 21 and have a valid Texas driver’s license or a state-issued ID that matches the home address. If new to the area, a utility bill in the name of adopter will suffice. Renters must present proof of pet deposit or landlord approval to have a pet.

We require that you visit with a pet and adoption counselor. We prefer that all family members be present when the pet is introduced to its potential new family. Current pets are welcomed and encouraged to be part of the meeting too.

If a good match is found, adopters complete an application. Same day adoptions may be done; however, Habitat 4 Paws reserves the right to request a home visit prior to adoption. We do not hold pets nor do we adopt on a first-come/first-serve basis.

Go meet their pets

Nearly every weekend our pets that are ready for adoption are featured at locations such as Petsmart, Pet Supplies Plus and other locations. We can also arrange visits throughout the week. Check out the Events page of our website for a current schedule of events: www.habitat4paws.org.

More about this rescue

The mission of H4P is to rescue and find permanent homes for dogs and cats while caring for them in a volunteer-staffed facility and foster program. We are currently raising funds for a building and in the interim are a foster based group.

Beyond just sheltering animals, we are proactive in other areas that will help keep animals out of municipal shelters. Paws Pantry animal-food bank collects and distributes dog and cat food to those in need. H4P hosts microchip clinics so that animals will have a permanent ID and can be reunited with their owners.
