My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Scout! I am a 6-year-old, 55lbs, Female, German Shepard/Terrier Mix in need of a new home. I am an incredibly affectionate dog with an energetic personality. I have a strong curiosity about the world and love to play outside, but I also love to cuddle up to people on a couch when I am tired. I am looking for a home with a fenced in yard and no other pets or small children. I am quick to trust humans, and, once I feel comfortable, I will develop a strong sense of loyalty to my owners. My owners originally adopted me from the humane society in 2019 after I was brought in as a stray.
I am spayed, house trained, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and in perfect health. I am a sweet and loving dog, but I am looking for the right owner who has more time to take me on walks, hike, and more.

Once your application is submitted and approved for the dog you are interested in, someone will call you to start the adoption process

ADOPTION FEE*: Fees vary due to costs put into them, but START at $400 for adults and $500 for puppies.

The adoption fee is for the adoption of the pet. We make sure that our animals are or will be spayed/neutered, receive the proper vaccines and are microchipped and we cover the cost for that if it's not already done before you adopt.

More about this rescue

A Wish for Animals is an all volunteer run organization trying to help as many homeless animals as possible. We work tirelessly to help these animals become adoptable and work hard to find the them the right match so that you can enjoy your pet for the rest of its' life.

During Covid we have been inundated with applications, so please be patient with us as we all work full time as well and are doing our best to care for our animals and find the right homes for them.
