My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dillan!

To say Dillan had a rough start to life would be an understatement. Dillan was left outside in a crate when his home had a fire and his owner abandoned him. We are unsure how long he was left there, but he had no food, water, or shelter from the elements. DPRPA rushed in to help this poor soul and give him a chance at a good life.

Dillan is a 2-year-old, Albino, cropped and docked male Doberman. In his short life, he was deprived of all basic necessities and therefore is unsure of when his next meal will be. He is very food motivated and can sometimes protect his meal, so it is important to continue teaching him the proper ways to accept food and treats.

Dillan is eager to make friends and has done well when meeting strangers. He is house trained, walks well on a leash, and will take treats gently when told “be nice.” He is also very playful when meeting new dogs, however, in a home setting he becomes a bit overstimulated and rough, so we are recommending a home with no other dogs or children. His family should understand his upbringing and be willing to work with him, by showing kindness, patience, and instilling boundaries.
