My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lady! She is 6 1/2 and would love to spend her golden years in a home! She is very easygoing and friendly but does take a while to warm up to new people. She is affectionate and intelligent and knows some commands. She is pretty quiet and reserved at the shelter and a loving home would work wonders for her. Lady would do just fine in a home with kids! She gets along with some dogs and not others, but needs a home without cats!

More about this shelter

Marion Area Humane Society is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization incorporated in 1967 under ORC 1717. We strive to educate, assist and protect the animals of the Marion area. Since 1986 have operated a shelter to provide a humane environment for homeless animals. In 2011 several generous donors and grants made it possible for a shelter renovation and addition of a separate intake section. MAHS operates a open-admissions shelter with a guilt and fee free surrender policy, to encourage owners who can not properly care or maintain proper living conditions for their pets to do the best thing for the pet. MAHS also provides humane investigations and a spay/neuter voucher program for Marion county.
