Hello there! Thank-you for clicking on my profile, I’d love to meet you. Let me tell you a little bit about adopting me. I am guestimated to be a 5-year old Shihtzu. I am a small girl. I weighed 5.2lbs when I came into rescue but I am working to put on a bit of weight because I am too skinny.
I am a very sweet and laid-back gal. I am a bit unsure of new things and new people. I am not mean at all but I run away if I am scared. I like to be close to my foster family and snuggle for pets but I am not intrusive. I don't need to be on someone's lap. Just knowing they are close is enough to me! I do follow my foster Mom around wherever she goes, especially when she goes into the kitchen! I also really enjoy sleeping in a big bed at night. Do you have of those too?
I am working on potty training and my foster Mom says I am about 60% there. So a new family will need to be committed to continuing my potty training.
I live with two doggie siblings and a human brother. I love them all! Going to a home with another doggie would be great so that I could learn from him or her and have a new BFF. I like roaming in my backyard, do you have one of those too? I am scared of leashes still and my foster family is slow with helping me with those. So a fenced-in yard is my ideal home to continue potty training.
In late July, I am going to be spayed, have a dental and a minor hernia repair. At that point, I will be ready for my new furever family! Could that be you?!?
My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!
- Family who is gone no longer than 5 hour periods.
- Children must be 10yrs or older
- 100% fenced in yard.
If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:
1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.
3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.
My adoption fee is $300.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
