My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Niko is a smart, sweet, and athletic kitten. She has also been nicknamed Squirrel due to her color, fluffy tale, chirping, and how she sits on her two back legs frequently.
Nikos favorite toy is a blue bird, which is normally tied to a stick that she tries to catch as you move it around. I have never met a cat who will work so long and hard to get the bird. So hard in fact, she will start panting from being physically warn out by it. She does amazing jumps to get the bird, even if it means hitting a table accidentally or doing a belly flop. It doesn’t stop her. Several times a day she will bring her blue bird to my in-home office door and meows, asking me to play with her.
She doesn’t give up when she wants something. She has worked for three months to get the resident cat to like her. She hasn’t given up when hissed at or ignored. Every day she continued to try to get the resident cat to play, to eat together, to say hello. And finally, the resident cat now accepts her. They love playing chase together and wrestling. Niko even will alert us when the resident cat has meowed to come out of a closed door room. She will run to the door and meow so that we are alerted.
Niko is fairly vocal. She does meow but more often will twirl. She’s constantly twirling. I’m not always sure what she’s saying, but she’s saying something.
She’s a smart cat. She has already learned by watching the resident cat, that if she sits on a certain special chair, she will get a treat.
She rubs against all objects around you while staring at you and purring and twirling. She likes to sit near people, but laps aren’t her thing. And she has extremely silky soft fur.She does get lonely when she’s alone. It would be best for her to go to a home with another cat or a family who will have someonehome most of the day. Born 4/21/23.
