My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

INDOOR ONLY HOMES PLEASE

Hubert was tossed into the bottom of a trash dumpster in a Riverside condo complex on July 6, 2023. An elderly lady heard a commotion, looked inside to discover him, fished him out, then called the rescue. I immediately drove to pick up the bunny.

Hubert was likely purchased from a breeder without any education provided to his original owners. Hubert is likely deaf or hard of hearing. Hubert was no doubt traumatized to find himself in a dumpster. This could have ended very badly.

Hubert has decompressed nicely on my watch and finally turned into a sweet, lug of a boy. You can snuggle him and stroke his big, chunky head. He is super cute when he stands on his hind feet begging for treats.

Honestly, he just seems happy to be in a safe space where he is allowed to be who he is. He stretches out in full superman pose so I know he's feeling relaxed.

Hubert is scheduled for neuter on August 7, 2023. He weights 5.7 pounds.

Hubert would do well in an exercise pen as his home base with additional romping time in specified areas of the home. Free roaming is always an option too! A cage/hutch is not recommended unless the door is open and an x-pen can be placed around it.

Please be over 21 if inquiring about a rabbit.

Hubert can be seen by appointment in Lake Elsinore after a questionnaire is completed or a phone consultation conducted. On adoption day, plan to spend approximately one hour at the rescue going over paperwork and general rabbit care information. Delivery is available up to 100 miles from Lake Elsinore.

PLEASE consult with the rescue before you purchase rabbit supplies so you can be directed to the least expensive and most appropriate rabbit essentials, especially if you’ve never had the pleasure of owning a rabbit! Your local big chain pet store is probably NOT the best place to buy rabbit supplies!
