My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

1) READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION
2) ALL FAQS ANSWERED HERE & ON OUR WEBSITE
3) APPLICATION REQUIRED (link at the end)
My life started in Merced, CA where I was rescued and started foster boarding school. After my important spay surgery I came to Mission Meow for foster finishing school and to find the family that adopt me, and that will love me and provide the best possible care for me.
I have a lot of kitten energy and I like playing with the other kittens at the school. I recently won the title of “Most Likely to Monopolize Toys”…and I don’t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I do like to carry the wand toys around the house and entertain the other kittens. Life is supposed to be fun and I want to make sure that I embrace that concept as much as possible.
When I’m not having fun with my friends I like to snuggle and get attention from my foster mom. I enjoy lap time, shoulder rides, and lying on her head (chewing on her hair) in bed. When my foster mom is working at the computer I try to help with some of the filing and typing but I usually end up on her lap supervising.
I know that your first thought might be “she is gorgeous”, and my foster mom says that I am, but there is so much more to me than my looks. I don’t want a family to adopt me based on my looks alone. They really need to enjoy everything about me because we will be together for a very long time. I really like other cats and having a kitty friend to play with would be wonderful.
If you are interested in meeting me and getting to know more about me, please read the information below that will guide you to where you can fill out an adoption application. I’m looking forward to meeting my new family very soon.
Kitten Kisses,
Elsa

*****ADOPTION PROCESS:*****
APPLICATION:
Please contact us and we will send you an online application. A response is usually given with 24-48 hrs. if we think it's a potentially good match.
INTERVIEW:
An adoption counselor will contact you via phone to answer any questions and if it seems like a good fit, arrangements will be made for all parties to meet with desired cat(s) at a mutually agreeable time.
APPROVAL:
If adoption is approved, a contract and adoption fee to cover veterinary costs will be required. You will be given medical files.
TIME FRAME:
Based on volunteer availability, it is possible for all adoption steps to be completed the same day, however, it is not guaranteed. Please note that occasionally a home check, vet records/references, etc. may be required and multiple people may be interested in the same cat(s) so additional time may be necessary. You are also welcome to get the kitten an appointment with your own veterinarian at your expense prior to adoption, just be aware that may delay the adoption by several days.
WHY:
Our adoption vetting process ensures a proper feline fit for your family. You may be a wonderful pet owner but may not be the best fit for a particular cat, or other extenuating circumstances. Also, YOU may know you are a good pet owner, but we don't. We exist because too many people view pet ownership as casual or disposable so we want to be sure the best match is made for the next 15-20 years. Your patience and understanding as to where we are coming from are much appreciated. Our adoption process is also reflective of the extremely thorough medical protocol our kittens receive. Thank you!
