My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is a COURTSEY posting only to help ECHO find a home. You will need to contact the organization who has him.
Please go to the HOME FOR GOOD DOG RESCUE at website www.hfgdr.org for an adoption application or additional information. This dog is located in NEW JERSEY.

Northeast Pyr Rescue is not responsible for this dog. We only courtesy post dogs who are in the states we cover in the Northeastern US.

Echo is a 1-year-old purebred Great Pyrenees. Echo was rescued along with his 5 siblings from deplorable conditions in Augusta, Georgia. Upon arrival, the entire litter was covered head to toe in mange and fleas. They had zero human contact prior to Home for Good and needed lots of TLC to come out of their shells. Echo was in the worst shape out of all his siblings. Unfortunately, he had suffered from double entropion (when the eyelashes inadvertently grow into the eyeball) and has since received corrective surgery. Echo recovered beautifully from his surgery and with the proper nutrition and environment has grown back his white luxurious coat. Echo was also extremely underweight upon rescue. He currently weighs 65 pounds and as he is working to become the perfect healthy weight, Echo is now ready to find the forever home he so truly deserves.

“Hi everyone, my name is Echo and I would like to tell you a few things about me... I have the cutest face ever but I really am very shy around people. I'm learning in my foster home that people aren't so scary, one day at a time. I would love and need a family that will be very patient and understanding with me because I am still learning that people aren’t so bad. I would prefer a home that is quiet and calm, loud noises tend to frighten me simply because I have never experienced such things in my entire life.

I am most comfortable when I am in the company of other dogs, especially ones that love to play. At this time, my true personality only shines when I am with my foster siblings and for that reason, I *must* go to a forever home with another dog or multiple present.

In my foster home, I have come to love chewing on deer antlers and Kongs filled with peanut butter. What a luxury! Really any toy will make me happy, and my goofy personality shows through when I'm playing with my toys.

I walk pretty well on a leash for as nervous as I am, but when I get spooked I try to dart and get away, but, after I am reassured everything is okay I’m ready to continue my stride. Oh, one more thing before I go, I also wouldn’t mind living with a kitty friend as well. I am simply looking for an experienced and patient owner who is looking to add a loyal and handsome four-legged friend to their family. Please consider adopting me. I will be eternally grateful!"

Echo is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped.

**Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application. All adoption applications must be completed on www.hfgdr.org**

HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life!
