My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A very pregnant Kathy was surrendered to us by someone who clearly loved her but could not provide a safe place for her and her puppies.  Her babies were born the next day and as they grew, she warmed up to us and revealed her true love bug nature.  She was and continues to be such an amazing mom.

Kathy will need a home that is willing to patiently gain her trust.  It won't take long for her to warm up to you though and become your best friend for life. Her hugs are the best and she genuinely soaks up every bit of love and affection.  Kathy has never been aggressive but she can put on a good show as a watch dog.  She is that sweet, loyal protective dog that movies are made of.

More about this rescue

It all began late one evening when Meredith, founder of LCAR, watched John, co-founder, pull into the driveway with an unexpected passenger. There she sat in the front seat, as tall as she could possibly get, so she could look out over the dashboard. It was love at first sight. That’s when Roxy went home with Meredith and John, becoming the first of many, many rescued dogs, cats, and horses that were yet to find their way home to the ranch.

Lucky arrived soon after. She and Roxy were thick as thieves from day one and roamed the ranch as if they owned the place. Well, they did actually own the place!

Several dogs have shown up on the property since then, appearing as if out of thin air. They must have heard of the ranch being the place to be if you had no place left to go.
