My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

For info please email beverly@compactcaninerescue.org Fee: $300 LOCATION: Virginia Beach, VA Lily is a sweet little lady looking for a new home. She is approximately 7-8 years old and weighs 20 pounds. She was a stray and was super happy to be released to our care. Lily is great in the car. She has been the perfect house guest at foster moms house. She is a very loving, sweet little girl. Lily is tolerant of her foster brother but she would prefer to be an only dog. Lily Faith is a great companion and loves people and children but is very reactive on leash when she meets other dogs while out walking. For this reason we prefer her to be an ONLY dog in her new home as well as have a fenced yard (preferably a privacy fence). She loves the fenced yard! She loves ALL people and she has lived with young children. She really is a wonderful dog. Please consider Lily Faith she deserves the best! Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

After submission we check with the vet you referenced to obtain your pets medical history and the adopters compliance with recommendations

2.

Interview

Once you pass the vet. reference, we schedule an interview to find out more about you, the applicant, and the type of dog you want to adopt

3.

Home Check

If the phone interview is passed we then visit your home to see how one of our dogs reacts to the family, other pets and the environment.

4.

Approve Application

We have a committee to whom the applications are presented. They read over the entire packet and either approve or deny the app

5.

Meet the Pet

Once an adopter is approved they can call the foster parents and find out more about our dogs. If they match we set up a Meeting

6.

Sign Adoption Contract

If one of our dogs is a good fit, then at the meet an adoption can take place during the meet and greet

7.

More about this rescue

The founding members of our rescue are dog lovers. Especially, small dogs! When we saw the need to help so many small dogs of various breeds and mixes, we collaborated to form a non-breed-specific rescue to help as many small dogs as possible. Our mission is to help dogs who weigh up to 20 pounds.

Adoption is not first come first served. We match our dogs to potential owners to ensure the best outcomes for all involved! Our philosophy is: Rescue - Rehabilitate - Rejoice!

Our mission statement is as follows:
Compact Canine Rescue is a network of volunteers committed to rehabilitating small dogs and rehoming them with forever families on the east coast of the United States. We are passionate about promoting responsible pet parenting and educating the public on what makes dogs healthy and happy.
