DOG TEST: (Good with Dogs) Boo Boo has met a few other dogs around his age. He was shy at first but opened and likes to play wrestle.
CAT TEST: (Needs Testing) BooBoo has never been around cats before.
KID TEST: (Good with kids) BooBoo loves everyone he meets. Due to his size and tendancy to jump BooBoo would do better with older children.
HOUSE BROKEN: (Needs Work) Boo Boo is not potty trained and needs training. ENERGY LEVEL: (High) BooBoo is still filled will all kinds of puppy energy! He loves to play with toys and is still learning how to play fetch. He loves to run around the yard and enjoys going on long walks. Once you tire him out he will cozy up on the couch with you!
LEASH WALKING: (Needs Work) BooBoo loves walks and gets super excited on the leash. He tends to pull when he sees something he finds interesting!
KNOWN COMMANDS: Sit (Yes) Down (No) Stay (No) Shake (No) Drop (No)

Monday- Friday 8am-5pm
Saturday- Sunday 10am-2pm
We ask that you come visit any time between open and no later than 30 minutes prior to closing. This ensures that staff will have enough time to assist you in meeting one of our great furry friends!

More about this shelter
We are a Municipal Animal Shelter for the City of Lee's Summit. We house animals brought in by Lee's Summit Animal Control Officers and Blue Springs Animal Control Officers.
Animals are also brought to us by owners that can no longer keep the animal or by strays that were impounded for running loose.
When an animal comes in as a stray, it is held for 5 days to give the owner a chance to claim it. If the owner does not claim it, on the 6th day it is put up for adoption or foster. During this 5 day holding period, if a potential adopter would like to adopt the animal, they are welcome to sign up on the adoption list. The names on the adoption list are contacted on the 6th day if no owner has made claim.
If there are no names on the adoption list, then the animal will become first come, first served when available for adoption.
