My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Trooper is a 2 year old neutered male 65 pound Shepherd mix.

Trooper came out of a shelter near Dallas. He was considered as a possible Search & Rescue prospect but didn’t make the grade. He was plenty social but lacked obsessive toy drive which is required. It really was unfortunate they did not pull out a hose or a water toy as he surely would have made the team then. Troop loves water from little pools to big pools. He loves playing in the sprinkler and chasing water in general.

Good:

This boy is sweet. He does not have a grumpy bone in his body. Even though he is a sweet boy he will alert and patrol his yard. You will always feel safe with Trooper around. He is polite on a leash though can get excited and pull. He is not one to chew anything in the house. He is a good boy in his crate. All in all this boy is polite, active, and generally easy. He will bond very deeply with his family. He is great with all dogs that he has met from a 25 pound old lady to the wild 1 year old male Malinois.

Naughty:

If you love German Shepherds then this is desirable but for average people maybe not so much….he is loud. He whines inside to get attention and barks outside to let everyone know what is going on in the neighborhood. He barks for reasons and not mindlessly. He will need some house training as it is unsure if he ever lived in a house. He wore a belly band at the foster’s house which made him think twice. He does stare at you when he has to go out. Trooper has also jumped a 4 ft fence rather leaps at it and full belly rolls over it.
